Microsoft has just released Windows Insider build 18970 for 20H1 Fast Ring, and along with some new features such as a more tablet-friendly desktop experience and the official introduction to "Cloud Download" As an installation option, there are a number of changes and corrections, as usual.

This solution includes a solution for a crash that involves lsass.exe that has been affecting "a small number of Insiders", and a note that says: Windows 10 Home and Pro users without a backup solution You will now see a "friendly reminder" to "consider setting up a backup option that is included with Windows." Apparently, this warning will be activated if you do not have a backup solution, or even if you do, but it is not the integrated Windows solution. The notification will include an option to disable this setting.

Along with this news about the next annoying backup reminders, there are a number of other changes and corrections. Here is the complete list:

There is also a smaller set of known issues, including the usual winks to anti-cheat software and Realtek SD card readers: here is the complete list:

  • There has been a problem with Previous versions of anti-cheat software used with games in which after upgrading to the latest 19H1 Insider Preview compilations can cause PCs to experience failures. We are working with partners to update their software with a solution, and most games have released patches to prevent PCs from experiencing this problem. To minimize the possibility of encountering this problem, make sure you are running the latest version of your games before attempting to update the operating system. We are also working with game developers and anti-cheats to solve similar problems that may arise with the 20H1 Insider Preview versions and we will work to minimize the likelihood of these problems in the future.
  • Some Realtek SD card readers do not work properly. We are investigating the problem.
  • We are working on a solution to a problem that makes the title bar buttons to minimize, maximize and close not work for certain applications. If you are using an affected application, Alt + F4 should work as expected to close the application if necessary.
  • The text on the Devices in Configuration pages for “Bluetooth and other devices” and “Printers and scanners” is not processed correctly
  • The search does not work for Insiders that use certain display languages, including Polish. If this is affected, changing your display language to English and then returning to your preferred display language should solve it.

This weekend is the US Labor Day holiday. UU., With most of the United States (included, we are sure, Microsoft) taking the Monday off, so this will probably be the latest version of Insider until next week at the earliest. Enjoy your vacation, if you have an upcoming one, and test yourself!
