Do you like puzzles? Have you ever wanted to have your own resort that you can design and renovate to your liking? Do you enjoy a story full of mystery, drama and romance? If your answer to any of those questions is yes, you may want to try Vineyard Valley.
Vineyard Valley: Match & Blast Puzzle Design Game was developed by Jam City, Inc. This developer is most famous for his acclaimed title Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery which as of today has more than 10 million downloads only on Google Play, with an average score of 4.4 stars with more than 1.5 million comments. This time, they decided to create a story-based puzzle adventure game in which players can design and renovate their own resort while following an interesting, immersive and engaging story full of mystery, drama and romance. So far, just one week after its official release, Vineyard Valley has more than 500,000 downloads only on GooglePlay and has a score of 4.4 user reviews from more than 14,000 reviews. In App Store, it currently has 4.4 stars from more than 600 reviews.
In this game, you start as a protagonist who spent his childhood in the Tangled Vines, once a thriving complex and vineyard. The Tangled Vines was directed by his aunt Margaret, while chef Raoul directed world class cuisine. His daughter Simone was your best friend, and you had an amazing time there. Sadly, Raoul died suddenly, and Tangled Creepers were never the same without him. Ten years have passed since then, and his aunt Margaret called him to ask for help to restore the Creepers to their former glory. You will soon learn that you will not do it alone. Your aunt Margaret will also invite Simone to be the new chef again and put into practice all the culinary skills her father Raoul taught her. From there, the story will follow the renewal of the Creepers, and each chapter will bring something new and exciting to the table.
The graphics of this game are simply said: lovely. The characters are beautifully designed and highly detailed. They also feel alive, and you will definitely enjoy interacting with them. The animation of the characters is quite well done, and their facial expressions are great. The entire Tangled Vines is masterfully designed with so many small details that will add to the general atmosphere. However, there is a downside to all this. Since the game is in its early stages, there are numerous reports of failures, slowdowns or game failures due to poor optimization. This is especially true for those with older phones that are at the lowest level of the system requirements for the game. Hopefully, developers will solve these problems, which will definitely make the game more enjoyable and fun.
There are two main sections of the game in Vineyard Valley, history and puzzles. During the history section, you will interact with other characters, learn more about them, make important decisions related to the renewal of tangled vines, etc. This is by far the most interesting and exciting part of the game. Each chapter pushes the story forward and, although not perfect, is fun and attractive enough to keep playing. As for the puzzles, these are quite standard for the Match and Blast puzzle game, but fortunately, they don't feel bored or too repetitive. The reason for this is that each chapter adds something new to the table, and the riddles become increasingly complex as you progress through the game. This makes them relatively fresh, so you won't feel that they repeat too much. The second reason is the story. There is a story segment after completing each section of the puzzle, which will serve as a good motivation to further explore the game.
Overall, Vineyard Valley is a beautifully designed game that will keep you hooked for hours and hours and will offer you a great story experience rarely seen in Match and Blast puzzle games. Definitely recommended for all lovers of the genre and those looking for a relaxing game with an attractive story.
