Use new Azure Active Directory roles to reduce the number of Global administrators

You do not need to be a global administrator to perform routine management tasks in Azure Active Directory (AD). To help reduce the number of global administrators by delegating administrative tasks and assigning low-privilege roles, we introduced 16 new roles in Azure AD.

For example, the global leader, a read-only version of the global administrator role, can see all configuration and management information. Global leaders are useful for planning, auditing and investigating and can easily work without global administrator privileges. Global Leaders are available in public preview and are supported by almost all Microsoft 365 services.

The other new built-in roles also support credential management and more.

To learn about this new role, you can preview 16 new built-in roles, including global leaders.
