Facebook and Oculus finally announced the launch date of the Oculus quest and the Oculus Rift S headset. May 21st. The two headsets will be available in 22 countries next month, priced at $ 399, and can be ordered today.
Oculus Quest is a standalone VR headset released by Oculus last year. The Snapdragon mobile chipset works without an external tracking camera or a separate computer. Oculus Rift S is a refresh of the 2016 Oculus Rift. It's not "Rift 2," but it's an upgrade that replaces the old Rift's tracking camera with a more convenient inner track. Neither is a definite purchase, but I was impressed by the new insight tracking system and Oculus continues to support the most ambitious VR games.
Rift S and Quest, pre-Oculus headsets, ship through Oculus's site and a handful of retail partners. You can find it on Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. GameStop will also sell Quests and Microsoft will purchase the Rift S. Since its launch on May 21, Microsoft will also offer headset demos. Quest is also available for Demo at Best Buy.
Rift S requires a gaming PC, but Oculus does not change the recommended specifications, so if you already have Rift, you do not need to upgrade your computer. (If you have a gaming laptop computer, it will be easier to use because there are not many ports on your USB camera.) Quests will be available in two price ranges depending on storage, starting at $ 399. 64GB and 128GB is $ 499. The games you use in the review unit are not limited in sound quality because they are highly space efficient.

This is not the only headset to pre-order this week. Valve announced that it will start ordering a new high-end headset called Valve Index to be released later this year.
