Samsung today released two Galaxy A series mobile phones, the Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A9, in China through SamMobile . Since the Galaxy A9 has been replaced by the Galaxy A9 in the Chinese market, it is still the same as the midrange phone with four cameras on the back. The Galaxy A6 is Samsung's first ODM phone or is manufactured by another company. According to The Korea Herald Samsung has agreed to outsource production of mid-priced Galaxy phones to Wintech, a Chinese design manufacturing company that produces Xiaomi phones.
The Galaxy A6s has two 12MP cameras on the back and one 12MP front camera. The screen is a 1080p 6-inch super AMOLED display. Powered by the Snapdragon 660 chip, it has 6GB of RAM and 64GB and 128GB of storage. Starting at CNY 1,800 (about $ 260), but currently available only in China.
Samsung's strategy shifts in sales growth in China and India, which are struggling to compete with Chinese phone companies like Huawei and Xiaomi, appear in two new mobile phones. According to the Strategic Analysis team, Samsung's market share in China is less than 1%, while China is considering shutting down one of its two factories, but ODM companies are trying to reduce manufacturing costs. Samsung Mobile CEO DJ Koh recently said that he is changing the strategy of "bringing technology and differentiation points from the middle" instead of starting the flagship model at CNBC . The Galaxy A9 is the latest example of this, and if the Galaxy A6 works well in China, there may be more ODM calls on the way.
