They say what they will do about Notch last year, but at least they were all at the center (19459003). Pictures of Asus' latest ZenFone 6 flagship phone were posted by Slashleaks and the most aggressive notch location found.
While taking pictures of saltwater spills, what I can think of is, "Why, Asus?" I can call the devil's advocate. The notch is like a small, unobtrusive essential phone. This design choice may or may not be final, but the aesthetic crime that Asus seems to have committed is positioning, not notch size. Certainly you can not ignore watching videos or games. Compromises have a wider screen space, but the bottom of the screen is slightly thicker, with no additional speakers on the front, such as the Pixel 3 XL.
Back in ZenFone 6's leaked spec, you can expect a triple camera setup in the back. Three cameras on the back of the phone are Asus's first products, but not in the industry and not in LG. At the rear, it appears that there is a fingerprint sensor that does not include a display sensor, as seen in the recently released OnePlus 6T.
As I have some compelling features in the store for this upcoming flagship, I can not know this weird notch placement because Asus is soon to have a wish.
