A recent update of the Skype Insider application for Windows, Mac, and Linux has retrieved the Split View Mode that used to be available in the now obsolete the classic Skype application. The feature is currently available on Skype for Desktop Insider Preview 184.108.40.206 or newer, and you can activate it by clicking the ellipsis button and then selecting "Enable split view mode."

Split view mode was already available in Skype for Windows 10, which is the Microsoft Store application that comes preinstalled with the operating system. Skype's standalone desktop application looks exactly the same, but it also works on earlier versions of Windows, in addition to macOS and Linux.
Retrieving split view mode in the new Skype application was one of the main features requested by Skype users. , and you can try it now by downloading the Skype Insider application on this page.
