Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Book S, a new ultralight notebook powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8cx processor at the Unpacked event. It's a bit like Surface Laptop, but not far from what I thought when I first saw the leak. More importantly, with Qualcomm processors, the battery life is much longer, but with much less horsepower and much different performance.
8cx is Qualcomm's 7-nanometer chip designed for PCs, Samsung needs Galaxy Book 2 version to have “40% better CPU performance, 80% better graphics performance and more memory bandwidth” compared to Galaxy Book 2 . In addition, there is no fan and the biggest feature of all functions is battery life. Samsung will last up to 23 hours of continuous video playback time, but it's said to be much less than it actually is if you use it.
