Realme has announced Realme X, a phone that the company describes as the first entry in its first line of flagship devices. It is, by far, the most powerful and loaded smartphone of specifications that has left the new brand, but maintains an aggressively low price point.
Realme is a company that was originally created by Chinese smart phone giant Oppo to specifically target the Indian smartphone market. Devices like the Realme 3 have shown impressive design and performance at low prices, and the company has already become one of the most popular smartphone brands in India.
The Realme X is not a truly high-end phone, but it's still quite powerful. It features a Snapdragon 710 processor, a 19.5: 9 1080p 6.53-inch OLED screen and a notch, a 48-megapixel camera with Sony's IMX586 sensor, a 16-megapixel pop-up camera, a fingerprint sensor in the screen, a Jack headset, a 3.765 mAh battery and the fast VOOC 3.0 charge from Oppo.
The price of Realme X varies from 1,499 yuan (~ $ 220) to 1,799 yuan (~ $ 260). The phone will be available in configurations with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, 6GB / 64GB and 8GB / 128GB.
Basically, the Realme X has a lot in common with the new OnePlus 7 Pro for around a third of the price. It also makes the new Pixel 3A with Snapdragon 670 technology from $ 399- $ 479 look like a much worse deal, at least in terms of the spec sheet. Even the Oppo Reno with a Snapdragon 710 seems expensive next to the Realme X.
The Realme X will go on sale through Realme's own site and several other Chinese online channels on May 20. You will probably arrive in India at a later date.
