TCL will launch its first folding phone in 2020, but it gave us an idea of a conceptual device in October 2019 to whet the appetite and give us an idea of what the company is planning.
While we obtained the folding phone, it is unlikely that the practical model will look exactly like the phone we will see next year, it can even fold in a different way, it shows that TCL is approaching a final product.
In February, we saw some of the foldable concepts behind TCL glass at MWC 2019, but they were not ready to be handled. Fast forward seven months and here we are, with the concept of TCL folding phone in our hands.

This is a conceptual phone, so there is currently no release date or firm price for the device; In fact, the phone we drive will not go on sale, it will really come. Be an updated version of what we saw.
We know that TCL will launch its first foldable phone in 2020, and it will be cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, which are around the $ 2000 mark.
That and more; I don't want to say that the TCL folding phone is cheap, it will be affordable in context compared to the current offers in the market.
Design and display of TCL folding phone concept
The folding concept of TCL works smart phone, but it is not perfect. Close the headset completely and turn it off alone (but it can be easily turned back on) and the interface is a bit slow under your finger.
However, there is nothing to be alarmed about. That is the objective of the conceptual devices, to test the hardware and software and to find solutions before launching a version prepared for the consumer.
TCL is very open about its plans for its folding device. He has no desire to be & apos; first & apos; to the market, and would prefer to take their time to make sure everything works properly, and also to learn the lessons of those who launched it before to avoid any mistakes made by competitors.
Well-publicized problems with the Samsung Galaxy Fold TCL returns and conducts more research, development and testing in the hope of avoiding similar setbacks.
Clearly he still has a way to go, but we are impressed with the progress so far. The butterfly hinge on your folding phone feels sturdy and moves smoothly. The bezels around the flexible screen are thin, and there are four cameras on the back, which offer a wide range of shooting options.
The screen is bright and clear, although it does not appear to be anything higher than a Full HD resolution (we have not yet been given firm specifications for this particular device.)
Open it completely and there is a weak fold in the center of the screen where it folds, hopefully, but it can subtract a little from what appears on the screen.
TCL is making great progress in the folding phone market. The marked improvements on its MWC that show this concept are clear, and it is on its way to a launch in 2020.
It will be interesting to see how much the current folding phone holders can undermine, and with what design and function configure it to opt for.
We are told that we will learn more about your folding phone proposal during CES 2020 in January or MWC 2020 in February. In short, there is not much time to wait.
