Outlook for iOS is getting iPad Split View, Do Not Disturb, and smart folders

Microsoft is planning a useful update to the Outlook app for iOS within a few weeks. If you are an iPad user, you want to start split view support in Outlook, so you can open email list with calendar. Drag-and-drop support is also in progress, so you can soon drag links or text from the browser window to your Outlook email draft.

With the addition of iPad, Outlook for iOS will eventually have no interruption. feature. This feature has been made available forever on Android and, when introduced to iOS, includes the ability to customize working hours and days of the week. Do Not Disturb silences email notifications by selecting an option such as "until tomorrow" if you want to silence email notifications on a schedule or even stop responding to work email all night long.

Do Not Disturb Mode [19659004] Outlook for iOS is also receiving LinkedIn integration. I'm hoping to run out of profile images for email contacts outside my organization or Microsoft account as I can link accounts and see matches in the contact card in Outlook.

A recent new add-in is really useful if you're moving a lot of email in Outlook Mobile. Microsoft plans to suggest a folder to help Outlook users on iOS moving certain emails to a specific folder. Always move a message from a specific contact, Outlook will go one step ahead and suggest a folder soon.

This update will be released in the coming weeks, but Microsoft promises a “sneak peek” at next week's next stage of Outlook for iOS and Android at the Ignite conference. Ignite will also preview some updates to Outlook for Mac, and one session promises an "updated user experience that applies to newer users first." Another session will focus on the next step of Outlook on Windows.
