O2 is the last network to release its 5G network, and if you have the correct telephone (and data plan), you can access the service in six locations throughout the United Kingdom as of today.

Instead of entire cities, O2 is presenting its technology in particular locations. These include Waterloo and Kings Cross in London, Haymarket in Edinburgh, Trinity Shopping Center in Leeds and the city center of Belfast South.

It will also be available at Twickenham and the Emirates Stadium in London, where there are often major events with heavy footsteps. There is currently no confirmation of when O2 Arena will receive the service.

It is currently a very limited set of locations, but O2 has confirmed that it will be available in more than 20 locations by the end of 2019 with 30 more to follow. the next summer.

Those 20 locations include Coventry, Nottingham, Blackpool, Derby, Leicester, Reading, Bournemouth, Lisburn, Slough, Bristol, Eton, Stoke, Cardiff, Guildford, Norwich and Windsor. You can find the complete list of the other 30 locations on the O2 website here.

O2 has submitted unlimited data plans for 5G coverage and these will not cost more than the 4G equivalent.

The cheapest 5G rate comes at £ 25 per month for 5GB of data with the most expensive one that costs £ 40 for unlimited data. However, that excludes a real telephone so it is quite expensive to obtain that unlimited data package.

O2 also offers contracts on four devices that are Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G, Samsung Galaxy A90 5G and Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G. The network will bring even more devices with 5G compatibility in the future.
