The new Windows Search experience will come to the Windows 10 October 2018 update

Microsoft has just released a new build of Windows 10 20H1 today with a couple of Windows Search enhancements for Fast Ring Insiders. Along the way, the company also announced that the new Search Home experience that made its debut in the Windows 10 May 2019 update was now being implemented for all users who are still in the Windows 10 October 2018 update. .

To be clear, you should only see this new search experience in the Windows 10 October 2018 update if you have disabled Cortana. As a reminder, Microsoft finally separated Cortana from Windows Search in the May 2019 update, and the company is currently testing a new Cortana beta application with Insiders selected in Fast Ring.

"After receiving positive comments and comments on this new experience, we now make it available to more users by implementing it for everyone using the Windows 10 October 2018 update as well. We hope you find them useful and help Search Home is more productive for you, "explained the Windows Insider team today.
