British satellite TV broadcaster Sky is making Netflix available on Sky Q set-top boxes. Netflix integration allows existing or new Netflix customers to access shows such as Stranger Things, The Crown on the Sky Q interface. Sky has built Netflix directly into the TV guide and is accessible from the on-demand tab.
UK Sky Q users can connect their existing Netflix account to Sky or choose a new "Ultimate On Demand" package from the company. The price of this new package is £ 10 per month and includes access to Netflix and Sky Box Sets. Apart from this, Netflix is generally £ 7.99 per month, and Sky Box sets £ 5 per month, so there is some cost savings for Sky Q customers. However, 4K's Netflix will be limited to Sky Q's premium subscription, Sky Q Experience. Sky is bundling the standard version of Netflix with Sky Q Entertainment subscription.
Sky recently launched Spotify on QBOX and announced plans to support HDR in the future. HDR support was expected to be available earlier this year, but Sky is now back to 2019. In other words, if you want to access 4K HDR Netflix via Sky Q, you have to wait until next year.
