Microsoft’s new SMS Organizer app for Android filters out spam messages

Microsoft created SMS Organizer app for Android, it is designed to sort messages automatically. The software giant launched the app in India last year, but XDA-Developers have now found their way to the US, UK and Australia. SMS Organizer uses machine learning to automatically sort messages and organize them into separate folders.

In other words, all incoming spam promotional SMS messages are filtered to "Promotion" folder and the actual messages are in your inbox. Microsoft also generates situation notifications in your SMS inbox for flights, trains, movie bookings, and more. With so many customizations available, you can also block senders, send SMS messages, and keep old messages. All categorization and notification generation takes place on the device, so Microsoft's SMS Organizer app also works offline.

You can also back up all your SMS messages to your Google Drive account, but the app only supports SMS messages, not MMS messages. If you backed up your messages, you can also restore your messages to another device where the app is installed.

SMS Organizer was started as a Microsoft Garage project, an app created by Microsoft employees as an experiment. Immediately available on the Google Play Store, but currently limited to the UK, US, and Australia.
