In an extremely short report, Returns noted that Microsoft will be selling its mixed reality headsets, HoloLens 2, next month. The report said Microsoft Vice President Harry Shum made the announcement at the World Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Shanghai.
It is not clear at this time whether the company will sell the devices to developers, companies or both. Both the commercial and developer edition of HoloLens 2 cost $ 3,500. However, there is the option to get mixed reality headsets for $ 125 per month with Dynamic 365 remote assistance that allows people to collaborate between locations.
The company presented the developer kit in May with free Unity Pro and Unity PiXYZ Plugin tests for CAD data and support for Unreal Engine 4. We have asked Microsoft for more details and we will update the publication accordingly.
