Microsoft’s annual Build developer conference kicks off on May 19th

Microsoft announced today that it will host the 2020 Build Developer Conference in Seattle from Tuesday, May 19 to Thursday, May 21. Microsoft didn't say when to sell tickets, but it has a regular mailing list that you can sign up to get information about the event.

Build is one of the biggest events of the year. The company uses developers to preview the latest Windows roadmap, as well as updates and features available in Office, Edge browser, Cortana voice support, and other software and services. So far, it's hard to predict exactly what the company will talk about at this conference, but it may include updates to what was announced at the October Surface event.

So far, the announcement of this event in advance is unusual in the company. Over the past two years, Microsoft has released a build date for February. However, today's blog post also lists dates for other large Microsoft events from this year to 2020, so Microsoft wanted people working in the Microsoft ecosystem to make booking easier.

Because Microsoft's builds have overlapped with Google's I / O developer meetings over the last two years, even developers using both the Microsoft and Google tools may be easier. Google hasn't yet shared the 2020 I / O iteration schedule, but it won't be a duplication if Microsoft hosts the event a little later than the schedule in May. We will have to wait for the company to move back one-on-one in one of the busiest states in the technology sector.
