Microsoft to allow Alexa to integrate further into Windows 10

Microsoft has released Windows 10 more than any third-party digital assistant. In the next update to Windows 10 scheduled for September, Microsoft will allow a voice assistant, such as Amazon's Alexa, to be activated on the lock screen. If this change locks up the PC and someone calls out "Alexa" in the room, the third party secretary can wake up and become active.

Although relatively minor changes, Microsoft wants to show you how to handle voice digital assist features in Windows 10. Amazon also enabled Alexa to wake up in the Windows 10 app earlier this year. The new shift for Microsoft is that Cortana on Windows 10 moves to a separate application on the Microsoft Store and changes out of the operating system's built-in search environment. Microsoft and Amazon have previously collaborated to partner Cortana and Alexa.

This means that Cortana will now play a bigger role in enterprise software, but it is just one of many digital assistive devices available in Windows 10 in the future.

Microsoft plans to do some of these digital minor changes in the code name 19H2 update. , It is expected to arrive in September. Unlike previous Autumn updates, this product is much smaller in size and has fewer new features and changes. Microsoft began testing some of these digital minor changes in the new Windows 10 build (18362.10005), which was released today to Windows Insider testers.
