Microsoft shares twin previews of Windows 10 with Insiders: Toys for some, coal for others

Windows Insiders were watching double last night when Microsoft once again expelled not one, but two versions of Windows 10. October

The 19H2 versions again pointed to the Slow Ring and continued with the company's determination to confuse it . loyal army of unpaid testers with one that contains new toys and one that doesn't.

Dual test versions aim to test the strategy of sending an update with features disabled and then gradually activate them through "controlled feature deployments."

The result is that if you were in build 18362.10012, you will get 18362.10014 with the new converted toys turned off by default , while users of 18362.10013 get 18362.10015 with things activated.

And if you just joined the Insider program since the May 2019 update to see how things work ahead of time because that was the point of the program first well, a virtual Sarkar Dona and Brandon LeBlanc will play rock / paper / scissors on your PC to decide if you are on the naughty or nice list.

Which is a shame because this version contains some new features that companies would be interested in consulting in advance.

The first seems to be a step behind Windows 10 S, launched by former Windows boss Terry Myerson. Originally, an operating system in its own right to assume ChromeOS then degraded to a mere "mode" of Windows 10 last year, when Myerson left Microsoft, Windows 10 S only allowed the execution of applications from the Store.

While there were alternative solutions Because of the limitations, such as the Citrix Receiver application, it is safe to say that Windows 10 S has not been the great success that some expected in Redmond.

With 19H2, things have become a bit fuzzier like "Win32 traditional companies will be able to install desktop applications" through Intune. Oh, and Windows 10 S mode was also known as a "policy."

We can almost hear how the ax sharpens.

ARM64 users in the company will also be pleased to know that Windows Defender Credential Guard is present for their devices: practical, with Microsoft's new friend, Samsung, who is about to launch the Galaxy Book S with Snapdragon technology next month.

Assuming, of course, that these business users are allowed to try any of these things.

This time, completing the settings is the arrival of Windows Search in File Explorer, which has been lurking in Fast Ring for a while and aims to better integrate OneDrive content, and Narrator's ability to know the status of the FN Key (and lock) so dear to laptops. ®
