Microsoft Planner gets a weird new icon, inspired by the other Office 365 apps

Microsoft continues to redesign the icons for the main Office 365 applications, and today, another new icon is starting to be implemented in the Office 365 online dashboard. As noted Aggiornamenti Lumia Microsoft Planner has received a new icon, inspired by icon designs for PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams and Yammer.

The images in the new Planner icon leave the old photo of three people facing a check mark for something more simplistic. Now it presents green squares of different colors, designed to resemble a "P", as seen below.

Obviously, Microsoft is looking to make Office 365 icons more consistent. While not as clear as the others, the new Planner icon represents the "P" in the product name. That is similar to the "O" in perspective, "W" in Word, "T" in computers and then "S" in Sharepoint. The icons for Sway, Delve, Flow on the Office 365 dashboard have not yet been updated to this new design language.

We are currently seeing this new icon on our Office 365 dashboard, and we presume that the launch could be linked to a Microsoft side update server. Although it appears on the control panel, we still do not see it in the Planner favorites icon, or on the loading screen of the main Planner website. Apps on iOS and Android also seem not to have been updated yet.
