Microsoft Launcher has been officially updated to 5.8 (via MSPU). After just over two weeks since it was initially available in the tests, the update is already addressed to all users.
First, commercial users will likely appreciate that, as IT administrators, they have the option to configure device startup screens, including wallpaper, application placement, and even screen feed availability left. In addition, the application also includes a couple of improvements that all users can take advantage of, including optimizations in the search experience, as well as support for new applications to appear automatically on the home screen. Here is the exact change, for those who may be interested:
- Newly installed applications can be added to the home screen automatically for devices with Android 8.0 and higher.
- The search experience is optimized to make local results easier to access. Microsoft Intune fully managed device support: IT professionals can now configure home screen experiences for managed devices, including wallpapers, home screen applications, application icon location, and power availability.
Since the beta version is now generally available to all users, this probably means that 5.9 should target beta testers soon. If you are interested, you can download or update the application using our link below.
