Microsoft announces Surface event on October 2nd in New York City

Microsoft hosts a special Surface hardware event in New York in October. The event, held on October 2, may be the first public event of Microsoft's dual-screen Surface device. Microsoft has been developing a new dual-screen device, code-named "Centaurus" for more than two years, and is designed to be the hero device of the new dual-screen tablet / laptop hybrid we expect. 2020.

Microsoft demonstrated this new device at an internal meeting earlier this year and announced that the prototype work was going on as it nears launch. Nevertheless, I'm not sure if Microsoft will introduce or release this new hardware in October. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is known for killing Surface Mini a few weeks before the scheduled public announcement. If Microsoft plans to show you this dual-screen Surface device, it can't be shipped immediately. Sources familiar with Microsoft's plans announced in The Verge that they are currently targeting the 2020 release date of the dual-screen Surface. Surface Book was updated a long time ago, and Microsoft's Surface Laptop and Surface Pro hardware was finally able to see the addition of USB-C ports this year. Even Microsoft's Surface Go tablet is over a year old and you can see some refreshes. Verge comes with all the latest news from Microsoft Surface events in October so stay tuned.
