As Square Enix prepares to launch episode 4 of Life is Strange 2 on Xbox One and other platforms next week, the third episode released in May now you can play with Xbox Game Pass (via Reddit). Earlier this year, Square Enix announced that future episodes of Life is Strange 2 would join Xbox Game Pass 3 months after its release, which means that episode 4 should join Xbox Game Pass in November of this year.
Episodic games such as Life is Strange 2 are ideal for subscription services for games like Xbox Game Pass, although developer Dontnot Enternaintment is taking time to complete the second main entry in the series. The first episode of Life is Strange 2 was released in September 2018, and the fifth and final episode is expected to be released on December 3, 2019. It is a terribly long time to wait, although it is not as bad as Square Enix attracts to people to talk about the game every two months.
Here is the official description of the third episode of the game:
After their narrow escape from Beaver Creek, Sean and Daniel's dangerous journey to Mexico continues. In this episode, the brothers meet with Cassidy and Finn in California, become friends with a community of homeless people who live outside society and try to raise money by working on an illegal farm.
New friendships and relationships create friction, and put the unity of the brothers to the test. As tensions rise, can your strong bond survive?
Square Enix has been one of the first supporters of Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass game subscription service, bringing many of its high-profile games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Just Cause 4 to the game Pass the catalog only a couple of months after its official debut. However, the publisher has not yet brought their games to the new Xbox Game Pass for PC.
Microsoft is expected to announce new Xbox Game Pass games on Monday during a special episode of Inside Xbox live from Gamescom. The live broadcast will begin at 5 p.m. CEST / 11 am ET on Mixer, Twitch and YouTube.
