Lexar today announced a new JumpDrive Fingerprint F35 USB 3.0 flash drive that uses fingerprint authentication to protect data. Works at speeds up to 150MB / s and can recognize fingerprints of less than a second. It is protected with 256-bit AES encryption to keep up to 10 people aware and to keep files secure.
9to5Mac [329.996] can preorder 32GB variants for $ 32.99, but it is not clear when flash drives are released. There are also 64GB, 128GB and 256GB variants, priced at $ 50, $ 90 and $ 170, respectively, and will be available in the next few months. Lexar says that JumpDrive is compatible with Mac and Windows PCs, but Mac users without a USB 3.0 port can not use the flash drive without a dongle. Perhaps the company's next step is to focus on making fingerprint sensors available to USB-C flash drives.
