Is Microsoft Edge Chromium close to a stable release? Download links are live for Windows 10

Microsoft Edge Stable

The stable version of Microsoft Edge is now available for Windows 10, since the "Microsoft Edge Stable" search shows the direct download link at the top, as Techdows saw it. Microsoft has been working hard on the new version of Chromium-based Edge, having recently implemented the smooth scrolling Edge Edge is known for.

Microsoft has not yet announced the official release date of the new Microsoft Edge, and it is completely possible, download links could be removed later. But seeing how far the company has come with the development with new features such as Collections to organize web pages, it would not be too surprising for the company to announce something soon.

The installation of the stable version of the new Edge will replace the classic version of the browser that is preinstalled on the machine, and it will not be possible to return from the Control Panel. As such, it might be better to wait for an official announcement from Microsoft if you don't want to risk encountering errors in your main browser.

Will the browser launch and install or wait for Microsoft Ad? Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments area below.
