Instagram is trying to add a search bar to the videos posted in people's feeds, and finally gives you access to the most basic amount of control over video playback. The feature, which was discovered by the application researcher Jane Manchun Wong could allow you to jump to a point in a video that you want to watch and rewind the images without having to restart a video completely. All the other video players have allowed you to do it since the beginning of time.
Instagram already includes this feature for videos published on IGTV, but surprisingly this is the first time we see it enabled for regular Instagram feeds. Before getting too excited, the service does not seem to be testing the function of the videos posted as part of an Instagram story.
The ability to scroll through the videos is for Instagram what the editing tweets are for Twitter, a feature that people have been requesting for years and that somehow has never been released. Still, it's good to see that it could finally be on the way to Facebook's social networking platform, while the Twitter edit button is not found anywhere.
