HP launches Chromebook x360 in India starting at Rs 44,990

The latest HP Chromebook x360 has arrived in India in a convertible format. Being a Chromebook, it works with Google's Chrome operating system and offers users access to more than one million Android applications. Like an Android smartphone.

With a user base of 91% in India, Android is very popular in India. The Chromebook x360 is an extension, as it exists in the Google product ecosystem, which is why PC users who constantly rely on Google’s suite of applications should feel at home. That does not mean that users cannot use the Microsoft Office suite on the Chromebook.

Features and pricing of the HP Chromebook x360

The HP Chromebook x360 takes certain signals from the company's Pavilion line. It feels a bit premium in the hand due to the anodized aluminum finish of the chassis and the white matte finish similar to the ceramic on the lid. The laptop weighs 1.68 kg and measures 16 mm at its thickest point.

The Chromebook x360 works with the 8th generation Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processor with integrated Intel UHD 650 graphics. It runs on Chrome OS with 8 GB of RAM and the 64 GB eMMC storage option. While RAM is not upgradeable, users will have the option of obtaining up to 256 GB of storage in addition to using an SD card for extended storage.

In addition, the laptop comes with 100 GB of free storage in Google Cloud that is valid for one year. It can be controlled by voice commands, since it comes preloaded with Google Assistant.

It has a 14-inch Full HD screen that supports touch input. The top and bottom bezels of the Chromebook x360 are prominent, while the side bezels are quite narrow.

The Chromebook x360 has a full-size backlit keyboard with a diamond cut edge on the touchpad. As with most HP products, Bang & Olufsen has tuned the speakers of this laptop.

As for the I / O options, the Chromebook x360 comes with two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, a single USB 3.1 port, a headset / microphone jack and an SD card slot.

The laptop is equipped with a 3-cell battery, which according to HP can last up to 11 hours on a single charge.

HP Chromebook x360 starts at Rs 44,990 for the model with Core i3, 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of eMMC storage. It will be available starting August 10 in HP World stores, in the HP Online store along with Amazon India and Flipkart.
