In addition to launching iOS 13 for iPhone, this week the company also launched watchOS 6 for Apple Watch. Here we show you how to update to the latest software for the portable device.
The big news of the week is that Apple released iOS 13 for iPhone on Thursday. In addition, it launched the new update for Apple Watch in the form of watchOS 6. The new features for the watch include new watch faces, new applications and, for the first time, its own independent app store. Previously, to install applications on Apple Watch, you first had to download applications on your iPhone.
Install watchOS 6 on your Apple Watch
First, make sure that Apple Watch has a 50% or more charge and connect it to your charger. Make sure your iPhone is also plugged in. Also, keep your iPhone and look within range during the update process.
Then start the Watch application on your iPhone and go to My watch> General> Software update . You should see that watchOS 6 is available and touch the Download and install button.
Enter your PIN and accept the terms of service. Then, sit down and wait while the installation is done. This is a fairly large update, and the amount of time it takes will vary. Therefore, you must ensure that both your watch and your iPhone are connected to their respective power supply.
Your watch will restart during the update process and you will see a message on your phone indicating that the software is up to date.
And that's it! Your watch is now running the new watchOS 6. In addition to the new watch faces, the first thing you'll want to check is the App Store for Apple Watch. It has some great new apps that include audiobooks, voice memos and more.
If you have a problem with the update, reset your watch and iPhone and verify that the watch is connected to the charger. Then follow the same steps again.
