Harry Potter: Wizards Unite the Pokémon Go style smartphone game, jointly developed by Niantic and WB Games, is now available in open beta in Australia and New Zealand. Players in both countries can play the game now on iOS and Android. The announcement follows a couple of false starts for the game, which included its appearance in the iOS app store last month before being quickly removed.
In 2016, Pokémon Go was also first launched in Australia and New Zealand, before coming later to the United States, Europe and the rest of the world. However, at that time it was possible to get early access to the game on Android by downloading its APK from a third-party source. That does not seem to be the case with Wizard & # 39; s Unite. Although we were able to install the application successfully using this method, it refused to upload any content beyond a brief initial tutorial.
Wizard's Unite is programmed to be a much more complex game than Pokémon Go was at the launch, with artifacts to collect, characters to rescue and intricate set of skills to level up. When we tested it for ourselves in March, we discovered that this meant it was more difficult to understand immediately than the relatively simple game mode of Pokémon Go of Pokémon Go in search of Pokémon and fighting in gyms. However, its developers have noticed that the characteristics of the game could change in the course of the beta.
Harry Potter: Wizard's Unite is available for download now in Australia and New Zealand on both iOS and Android. A global release date has not yet been announced, but you can register to receive updates on the Wizards Unite website or pre-register with the Google Play Store.
