Google Assistant can now "gently" wake you up with Philips Hue lights

Google is rolling out a new feature for the Google Assistant today that will allow a Google Home device to work in conjunction with a Philips Hue light configuration to wake you up gently in the morning or sleep at night by gradually rising or falling. The lights in the course of 30 minutes.

The feature, appropriately called Gentle Sleep & Wake, is designed to mimic a sunrise and sunset. It will allow you to get the kind of luxury experience that people who can afford houses and apartments with natural light get daily, but through cold and artificial Wi-Fi bulbs. It is basically the same.

Gentle Wake can be configured by asking the Google Assistant "Activate Gentle Wake up", which will automatically apply the gradual lighting effect to your alarm in the morning by default, or by asking Google to "Turn on my lights" or "Sleep my lights", which will gradually start the manual lighting or dimming process. Users can also program the manual wake-up or sleep modes up to 24 hours in advance.

For now, it seems that the Gentle Sleep & Wake function only works with Hue smart lights, so if you use another brand of light bulbs, you will not be lucky. Gentle Sleep & Wake is available as of today in English in the USA. United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore and India on Google Home devices.
