Facebook Messenger could be returning to the main Facebook app

Facebook can turn Messenger into a major social media app. This feature is currently being tested and discovered by app researcher Jane Manchun Wong which means that you can use a single app to access both social media platforms and messaging services. The changes use the existing messenger button in the Facebook app, but you can go directly to the message without opening a separate messenger app.

Messenger was first launched as a standalone app in 2011, and in 2014, Facebook was its primary application. About 30 years later, it appears that the feature is coming back as Facebook prepares to integrate messaging services into Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

As part of the messaging integration plan, Facebook sees individual apps for each service to continue to exist. I guess Wong is the same for the Messenger app, which I believe can serve to the main Facebook app and other potential customers.

Wong's screenshot shows Facebook's proposed white redesign. This app was first seen in early March. This interface closely reflects the white redesign of Facebook Messenger. This redesign was popular this year. It is unclear when a new messaging integration or interface will be available.
