After the launch of DJI's Ronin-S gimbal at CES 2018, it became a must-have accessory for the serious videographer. But, if you ever used one, you will know that it is heavy, which makes it uncomfortable during the filming of a full day.
However, DJI seems to have listened to user concerns and "accepted the challenge" of making a professional gimbal that is lightweight and "smarter" to use.
An advance video posted on the official DJI account on Twitter says that we will see the new gimbal sooner than we thought, with the launch in the Challenge. Event accepted on July 17.
We are ready for the challenge, right? Https: //t.co/hPX8phRc0d pic.twitter.com/yPB5uW7Za9 […] 19659006] We do not know much about the next gimbal, except that the FCC's July 15 presentations are named after Ronin-SC / Ronin- S Command. Documents were also presented for a focus wheel, a new Ronin-SC camera grip, an updated focusing motor and a wall adapter.
The video teaser does not go too far either. All we can say is that the next gimbal will be of a design similar to the original Ronin-S, but in a lighter and more compact configuration that improves ergonomics.
With strong competition from people like Zhiyun's Weebill Lab, DJI needed to update the Ronin range to match the ease of use. So I hope we can see a magnificently renewed stabilizer.
The launch is expected to take place at 9 am EST on July 17 (1pm GMT / 11pm AEST) and we will bring you the news as soon as it happens. 19659002] [via DroneDJ]
