Devialet shrinks its Phantom speaker but keeps signature sci-fi design intact

Devialet has released a new compact version of eye-catching Phantom speakers. This new model, called the Phantom Reactor, is 1/4 the size of the previous Phantom, but tries to keep the appeal of the expensive original.

What people like about Phantom speakers is that they look like Daft Punk designed Xenomorph eggs, but they also produce loud sounds without distortion, creating an impressive wide sound stage in a relatively small enclosure. A variety of streaming services (including Spotify Connect, AirPlay and Bluetooth) are supported, and multiple phantoms can be used together to create a stereo or multi-room system.

There are two versions of the new Reactor and you can choose the total amplified power of 600W or 900W, but it is not particularly cheap. Pricing starts at $ 999 for the 600W model and $ 1,299 for the more powerful version. Both will be released on October 24th.
