Cuphead, the popular racing and weapon platform game by independent developer StudioMDHR, has now reached 5 million copies sold two years after its release. This is quite impressive considering that this is the first StudioMDHR game, which also chose to skip the PlayStation 4 to launch its game on Xbox One, PC, macOS, as well as on Nintendo Switch.
Cuphead turns two today, and we are pleased to announce it: it has officially become five times platinum!
As of now, the game has a 20% discount on all platforms for a full week. And stay tuned, because we have 5 days of fun and gifts planned to celebrate the 5 million copies sold! pic.twitter.com/oe7uTzY62Y

To celebrate this new milestone, the $ 19.99 game currently has 20% discount on all platforms for a week. As a reminder, the Xbox One version is also compatible with Xbox Play Anywhere, which means you can play it on a Windows 10 PC and take it back where you left it thanks to the Xbox Live cloud saves.
Cuphead's success is quite interesting because of his brutal difficulty practically betrays his familiar appearance. This is not really a game for casual players, although the hand-drawn graphics of the game are unique and fans of classic cartoons should love it.
If you're a Cuphead fan, a new DLC called The Delicious Last Course will be released next year. The additional content will feature a new character, Ms. Chalice, who will have her own set of skills, such as the double jump. The DLC will also bring a new island with additional levels, bosses, weapons and amulets.
This new DLC will not be the end of the road for the game like The Cuphead Show, a new animated series will come to Netflix at a later date. The project has some prestigious names, and we hope to see how the universe of the game will translate to the TV format.
