Cryptic tweet by Raja Koduri points at Intel Xe June 2020 release

We could start seeing Intel Xe graphics cards in the summer of 2020. At least, that's what Raja Koduri, Intel's chief architect, was hinting at his tweet on October 3 .

The reign The processor manufacturer (CPU) is entering the discrete graphics card market with its next Intel Xe cards, and for the first wave of these Xe graphics cards, it is already committed to a 2020 calendar.

Raja Koduri's tweet, about which Tom & # 39; s Hardware reported, is A photo of what we assume is the back of your Tesla Model S with a personalized license plate with the words & # 39; THINKXE & # 39 ;, & # 39; June & # 39; and 2020 & # 39; on it. And it seems to confirm Intel's target date.

Intel is no stranger to cryptic messages like this, having caused the release date of Coffee Lake chips with a cup of coffee with the word & # 39; October & # 39; and the numbers & # 39; 10 & # 39; and & # 39; 2017 & # 39; Two years ago. Seeing that this photo came straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak, we will take it as a gospel.

However, it is not known if it is the date of the presentation or the launch itself. We are betting on a launch, but since Computex is a June issue, it could be that the manufacturer announces it at the event and publishes it a few days later.

A third contender in the GPU race

Only when AMD finally reached Nvidia in the graphics card game, Intel is throwing its chips, or rather, graphics cards, in the boat, which could only mean Something good for us.

These Intel Xe graphics cards, which will be based on the Gen 12 graphic architecture, will come in two variants, one for consumers and one for the data center. They will also be composed of everything from mobile graphics of basic level to GPU for games and GPU of general use for supercomputers exascale.

How Intel cards will be measured against their rivals AMD and Nvidia, we will have to wait and see. But, with Raja Koduri himself sharing strangely specific, though enigmatic, information about the cards, we are sure that we will begin to see leaks in the rumor factory in the coming months until June 2020.
