Asus will soon launch its first 15-inch Chromebook

According to ChromeUnboxed Asus has created a new Chromebook with a 15.6-inch display. Chromebooks are the largest size on a Chrome OS laptop. In addition to the new display size, the rest of the upcoming Chromebook C523 specifications are similar to the company's previous efforts.

The resolution of the 15.6-inch anti-glare display is 1920 x 1080. Asus will also offer a version with an optional touchscreen. The top and bottom bezels are still fairly abundant, but the "NanoEdge design" allows a slimmed side bezel. If necessary, there is a 180 degree hinge to lay it flat. The Chromebook C523 uses an Intel Celeron dual-core processor or an Intel Pentium quad-core processor, depending on the configuration you choose. The same is true for RAM provided in 4-GB or 8-GB configurations. The port includes an SD card slot, a headphone jack and four USB ports (two Type-A USB 3.1 / 2 Type-C USB 3.0). HD webcam and Bluetooth 4.0 support. Chromebooks weigh 3.2 pounds and have a battery life of up to 10 hours.

With new sizes, Asus can follow Lenovo or Acer (two companies that already make large Chromebooks). Pricing and availability information is not yet available, but we have contacted Asus for details.
