Asus celebrates its 30th anniversary with a special edition notebook. The Asus ZenBook Edition 30 includes a white leather lid cover and an 18 carat rose gold logo that closely resembles the Star Trek 's starfleet insignia. Asus did not use the same full leather as HP's Leather Folio tablet / laptop hybrids, but this means that the latest ZenBook is a traditional notebook.
"All genuine leather is hand-picked," explains Jonney Shih, chairman, ASUS. "Each panel cover can be stitched thoroughly by Master Taylor." Asus also offers pearl white mice and leather sleeves as well as special accessories for this leather laptop. This is not the first time Asus has experimented with leather on a laptop. Asus launched its S6F notebook in 2006 with a leather cover and a leather-covered palm rest in leather.
ZenBook Edition 30 includes Intel's 8th generation Gen Core i7 processor, Nvidia's GeForce MX250 independent graphics, up to 16GB of RAM, and PCIe SSD storage. This 13-inch notebook is equipped with Asus's bezel-free display with a screen-to-body ratio of 95%. Asus also includes a ScreenPad that puts the screen on the trackpad.
Asus has not yet announced the price or release date, but the company is pitching premium and limited edition. This can not be a cheap 13 inch laptop.
