Apple’s next iPhone might be able to wirelessly charge other devices

Huawei and Samsung recently introduced a useful feature in some of their latest phones: the ability to charge other devices wirelessly with new phones, allowing you to share a little bit of battery life in a pinch. The Japanese blog Macotakara (through 9to5Mac ) reports that the next Apple iPhone could include the feature.

The blog quotes Chinese vendors, who endorse a previous report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who claimed that the iPhone 2019 would get that feature, along with improved cameras and a larger battery. The site also notes that the next iPhone could come with a new charging cable and the 18W charging port that comes with the iPad Pro, although it will not use USB-C.

Being able to charge an iPhone wirelessly would be useful, especially after Apple's second generation of AirPods would come with a wireless charging case (as well as rumors that the Beats Powerbeats wireless headphones are available), a feature will be extremely useful if your headphones or the Apple Watch die while you are away and away from a charger.
