Apple's second fall event is fast approaching, but Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities Supply Chain, is not expected to attend. Kuo said the updated 5th generation iPad Mini will someday come through 9to5Mac by 2019.
Kuo says the new iPad Mini will get "upgraded processors and cheap panels," which I think is a smaller option for those considering Apple's entry-level iPad model. The iPad Mini update is out of date. Apple last updated the device with the iPad Mini 4 in 2015.
Kuo needs a rumored AirPod update that Apple is still adding to its 2018 or 2019 AirPower Charging Mat and Qi compatible cases late. Whether it will be revealed at next week's event, or whether Apple will still mention the charge pad, is not yet clear.
Kuo's report also reiterated key predictions for the upcoming October 30 event.
- Updated Apple iPad Pro (likely to replace the existing 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch models) and lowercase face ID integration, reduced bezel and USB-C support
- The new Apple Pencil- "Design (iPad rumors may mean support for USB-C).
- The new Mac "Specs bump for both MacBook and iMac at an affordable price and a long-lived Mac Mini
