Apple releases two new trailers showing off its TV Plus children’s shows

Apple today released trailers and new information for two of its original programs for its next Apple TV Plus broadcast service. The programs, the family-oriented programs Helpsters and Ghostwriter are scheduled to arrive on the day of the launch of TV Plus, which will be available from November 1. We cannot insert advances, but they are available on the Apple TV Plus sites linked below.

The first, Helpsters is a show for preschoolers about monsters who love to help people solve problems. The show is made by Sesame Workshop, and in the trailer, the studio's ability to mix puppets with real-world locations is on full display. The main monster, Cody, walks down a busy city street before singing a song with his monstrous companions in his shop.

At the Apple services event in March, Big Bird and Cody of Sesame Street discussed on stage how the Helpsters will use ideas taken from computer programming to help solve problems, giving the program a unique educational benefit. The breakthrough does not give clues as to what some of those problems might be, but it makes sense that Apple wants a program on Apple TV Plus that introduces children to the concepts of coding.

The other, Ghostwriter is a reboot of the popular PBS series of the 1990s that helped teach children to read and write. In the original, a ghost helped a group of children in Brooklyn solve mysteries by changing words and letters in the world around them. The advance of Apple TV Plus does not reveal how the restart could differ, but there are indications that it will follow a similar approach.

A rabbit that walks and talks asks children at school at the moment: the way he speaks and as he is dressed, it is presumably the white rabbit of Alice in Wonderland (He even calls himself "Mr. W. Rabbit"). But no one can see it, except four friends, who speculate on whether the ghost that sent them messages also sent the rabbit. (Spoiler warning: according to the description of the Apple program, the ghost is, in fact, releasing fictional characters in the world). I remember seeing Ghostwriter a lot while growing up, and I hope this show can engage a new generation in reading and writing.
