Amazon launches Echo and Alexa in Mexico

Amazon brought Alexa's voice assistant and various compatible Echo devices to Mexico. Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Plus, Echo Spot and Amazon Smart Plug are both pre-ordered and will start shipping next week. The company is also bringing Amazon Music Unlimited and Prime Music to Mexico as soon as people ask for music playback on their new Echo device.

Amazon launched Alexa in Spain last month, but the voice assistant is now updated to work with Mexican Spanish and uses local information. Amazon is the last major player in this market. Apple began selling home pods in Spain and Mexico last month, and in June the Google Home and Home Mini were launched in both countries.
