Acer announced a variety of premium ConceptD laptops for creators earlier this year, and now the company is already refreshing their laptops with Nvidia's latest Quadro GPUs. The flagship device, the ConceptD 9 Pro, is now an RTX Studio laptop with a 17.3-inch 4K display, up to Quadro RTX 5000 GPUs, and 32GB of RAM. Previous models used RTX 2080 GPUs, and the hinges were similar to Acer's Predator Triton 900 gaming PCs, making them more gaming laptops than gaming laptops intended for creators. Adding focus to RTX Studio laptops with Quadro GPUs and Nvidia's Creator-Ready drivers fits much better with video and photo editing workflows from many creators.
The main market is many video editors and creators, but Acer also targets this ConceptD range in virtual reality developers, big data analytics and artificial intelligence applications. As a result, you can use a variety of laptops. Acer's ConceptD 7 Pro includes a 15.6-inch 4K display, a 9th generation Intel Core i7 processor, and Nvidia's Quadro RTX 5000 GPU. For a more traditional clam shell, the unique hinge found in the 9 Pro is removed and a bit more portable, depending on the type of force that goes into 4.6 pounds.
Other RTX studio notebooks. Available in 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch 4K display options with 9th generation Intel Core i7 processors and Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 GPUs. Acer is aimed at creators working on CAD design, animation, and small design studios for this particular model.
If you don't need all the features of Nvidia's Quadro RTX GPU, there's a ConceptD 3 Pro, which includes a 9th generation Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia's Quadro T1000 graphics. This type of GPU performance is better suited for lighter video editing and photo tasks. Acer is also updating ConceptD 5 with the RTX 2060 GPU and ConceptD 3 with the GTX 1650 GPU.
All updated laptops still include the 9th generation Intel Core i7 processor. Acer has not yet selected Intel's 10th generation processors, but we expect to see more laptops with 10th generation processors in the coming months and at the CES 2020. Acer's creator-focused laptop range is certainly not cheap. Thanks to this powerful GPU, the ConceptD 9 Pro will be available in November starting at $ 5,799.99. Acer's ConceptD 7 Pro will be available in September at $ 2,699.99, while the ConceptD 5 Pro will be available in December with $ 1,799.99 ConceptD 5 in December, starting at $ 1,999.99. It's $ 999.99 and it's released in November and the Pro version starts at $ 1,699.99.
Acer refreshes Swift 3 and Swift 5, which offer a lot of GPU performance this week. Swift 5 and Swift 3 include Intel's 10th generation Core i7 processor, up to 512GB SSD storage, up to 16GB RAM, 14-inch 1080p display, and Wi-Fi 6 support. You can also configure it with Nvidia's processor. The MX250 GPU and Swift 5 are very lightweight options at just 2.1 pounds. Swift 5 will launch in November at $ 899.99 and Swift 3 will launch in November at $ 699.99.
