A new report suggests that Apple’s updated AirPods will come in early 2019

Apple will finally release an upgrade version of AirPod in the first quarter of 2019 and will redesign the device in 2020. 9to5Mac cites a new report by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Demand for these devices will rise sharply in the next few years.

During the summer there was rumor that the upgraded AirPod will be released this summer, but it never appeared on the stage. If Kuo's prediction is correct, it is not clear whether it means upgraded case or earpiece itself, but the new model will have "wireless charging support". Kuo said the upgraded Bluetooth specification, upgraded hinges and some internal components will be a little more expensive for the next model. There is also a rumor that in 2019, a premium AirPod set featuring a waterproof, noise canceling feature will also be available.

In addition to potential 2019 upgrades, Kuo will have "all new designs" for the 2020 AirPod, but it does not mention the details and does not mention the long-delayed AirPower mats. Kuo predicts that AirPod will be Apple's most popular accessory, selling more than 100 million units in 2021 from 16 million units in 2017.
